Having chickened out of her attempt at traversing Everfree Forest by herself, a certain violet-hued mare had found herself idly wandering through Ponyville; everypony else seemed to be busy but her. She still had plenty of studying to do, but if Twilight Sparkle had learned anything from her time here, it was that books weren't the only source of knowledge. However, with so many different areas to study, she had quickly realised that simply choosing the next topic of interest was just as difficult.
Twilight's stride began to slow as she reached the outskirts of Sweet Apple Acres - no-doubt Applejack would be busy with the farm, but that didn't mean she couldn't wander through it, right? At any rate, it was awfully warm and the delightful shade of the trees beckoned her forward. Locating one of the larger, leafy havens, the unicorn rested against it, her side leaning on its bark-covered structure. Such wonderful creations, trees. They took decades to grow but the strongest could withstand even the most treacherous of storms. Not only that, but the right elements could be transformed into medicine and even food!
... Actually, she quite liked the idea of resting under this tree, especially on such a hot day. And with a sigh, the mare slid down to the earth, basking in the heat of midsummer. Perhaps taking a day out to relax wasn't such a wasteful endeavour after all.
